Can I request camera photographs after a speeding NIP?
Photographs may help identify the vehicle or driver, but asking for them does not normally stop the section 172 response period.

Am I entitled to prosecution evidence at the NIP stage?
A NIP and section 172 request come before any not guilty plea and trial disclosure process. Some police forces provide photographs to assist identification, but the material and request process vary.
Does asking for photographs pause the 28 day deadline?
Do not assume it does. The duty and time period arise under section 172. Unless the issuing body confirms another arrangement, use the deadline on the notice and keep proof of communications.
What if the photograph does not show the driver?
Camera images are often designed to record the vehicle and alleged offence rather than a face. Continue honest checks using diaries, messages, receipts, location history and possible drivers. Do not guess.

- The original section 172 deadline
- The checks made to identify the driver
- An unaltered copy of any photograph supplied
- Proof of the final response
When should I seek advice?
