EDITORIAL STANDARDS
How we research and maintain NoticeReady content.
Motoring proceedings can have serious consequences. Our content is designed to orient and prepare, not to replace advice on an individual case.
Who is responsible for the content
The NoticeReady Editorial Team is the organisational author of our guides and tools. It is responsible for source research, drafting, review dates, corrections and the boundaries stated on each page.
We identify organisational authorship because no individual author or external legal reviewer is being presented. NoticeReady does not imply professional endorsement that has not been expressly given and verified.
Primary sources first
We use legislation.gov.uk, GOV.UK, official court and regulator material as the starting point. Each substantive guide identifies the principal sources used so readers can check the rule in context. The publishing organisation remains accountable for deciding whether a page is ready to publish.
Plain English without false certainty
We distinguish different documents and legal duties, including the difference between a Notice of Intended Prosecution and a requirement to identify the driver. Where facts, service, exceptions or procedure may change the answer, the page says so.
We do not publish guaranteed outcomes, invented success rates or anonymous claims of professional endorsement.
Review dates and material changes
Guides carry an updated date. We review content when the underlying law or official guidance changes, when a material error is reported, and as part of periodic maintenance. A changed date is used only where the page has actually been checked or revised.
Our publication review record
NoticeReady uses an organisational review rather than naming or implying endorsement by an individual solicitor. Before publication, a substantive page must identify its jurisdiction, primary sources, procedural boundary, material exceptions and the date on which those matters were checked.
The organisational review does not certify an answer for an individual case. It records that NoticeReady has checked the published explanation against the sources shown on the page and has accepted responsibility for correcting material errors.
- Primary legislation or official guidance is checked before secondary commentary.
- Deadlines are separated where more than one legal duty may appear on the same document.
- Discretionary outcomes are not described as entitlements.
- Calculators disclose their assumptions and direct users to the authoritative record.
- FOI figures are not compared until their definitions and reporting periods are compatible.
Corrections
If you believe a page is inaccurate, unclear or out of date, email hello@noticeready.co.uk with the page address, the point in question and any supporting primary source. Material corrections are prioritised.
Commercial independence
The free checker and guides are available without buying the Personalised Response Plan. Commercial content is labelled, and payment does not turn general information into legal advice or representation. NoticeReady is not currently collecting solicitor-matching enquiries.
Scope
NoticeReady’s current legal content is limited to England and Wales. It should not be used as a statement of the law in Scotland, Northern Ireland or another jurisdiction.
