West Yorkshire Police says it does not send Section 172 reminders.
A driver should not plan a response around receiving a second letter. West Yorkshire Police told NoticeReady that reminders are not sent in the camera enforcement process covered by its disclosure.
The finding that matters to a notice recipient
Asked for reminder counts for 2023, 2024 and 2025, the force replied: “Please note that reminders are not sent.” The response concerns camera generated offences which would generate a Notice of Intended Prosecution. It excludes dashcam offences.
This makes the first document and proof of response especially important. Keep the notice and envelope, check the response instructions and retain confirmation of any submission.

What the notice figure does and does not count
The force places one annual series beneath questions about initial NIPs and Section 172 requirements. It does not expressly confirm whether this counts combined documents or whether later notices following nominations are included. The scope covers camera generated offences requiring a NIP, not expressly speeding alone. Dashcam offences are excluded on cost grounds. The figure is not a count of unique drivers and must not be ranked directly against a speeding only series from another force.

Proceedings and processing times remain unavailable
The force withheld the requested failure to provide proceedings figures under Section 12, explaining that individual NIPs would require manual review. Withheld information is not a zero count and does not establish that the information is not held.
The force separately states that it does not hold the requested average or median nomination processing time. No processing time, prosecution rate, conviction count or MS90 count can be inferred from this response.

The response identifies StarPortal ↗ and says it went live in 2021. That predates all three requested reporting years. Use the access details and permitted response method on your own notice. Keep submission confirmation and contact the issuing office promptly if access fails.

Further clarification is needed on whether the notice series counts combined initial documents, includes later nomination notices, and which camera offence categories it covers. The response does not separately describe any changes to reminder practice within the three years. These are open definition points, not confirmed findings.
